Suggestions from the National Institute of Chinese Language Matters and Social Development Got Written Instructions from Leaders in Central Government

After the advisory report: Establish
National Language Think Tank System to Serve the National Strategy and Social
Need was adopted by the Ministry of Education and State Language Commission,
the advisory report named The Major Linguistic Problems China Faced in Global
Competition and Advisory Coping Solution got written instructions from comrade
Liu Yandong, member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee,
Vice Premier of the State Council and comrade Yang Jing, Secretary-General of
the State Council. They paid great value to the suggestions raised in the
report. Vice premier Liu posed specific requirements on the development of
national language ability from national strategy perspective. She also pointed
out that we should work hard to build a national language ability that can fit
in with our national strength.
the National Institute of Chinese Language Matters and Social Development
was a researchinstituteofState Language Commissionestablished on the base of
the former Chinese Language Monitoring and Research center ofWuhanUniversityauthorized by the State Language Commission in July,2014.This institute
sponsor two periodicals: Chinese Language Matters and Special Feature of
Chinese Language Matters. These have been provided advisory service to related
state departments regularly.In recent years, the institute has published
important column articles likeLanguage
and Country, National Language Ability in Global Competition,ChinaEducation
Newspaper. Theory Weekly which greatly enhanced it’s influence. In July
2015,the institute was formally recognized by the State Language Commission as
one of the two pilot institute of the National Think Tank of Language and
Character.
